The group I go to asked if I could do a Log Cabin workshop quilt as you go, as they had seen a couple of my quilts that I had made using this method.
Last Saturday 12 of us got together and proceeded to try and make a quilt in a day which should be possible to get 12 blocks finished if you keep going all day – I cracked the whip! told them they should be able to complete a block in 30 minutes – the response was – impossible!. After the first block, they found that it got easier, some of the ladies did manage to complete 6 blocks. Remember that they are also quilted at the same time so they are now ready to put together to make a quilt.
A good day was had by all with lunch in between.
I had another nice surprise in the post. When I went to Paducah in April I made some charm packs of London Themed fabrics and gave all the ladies on the tour a pack. One of the American ladies on the tour said she was visiting London in the summer and would use the pack to make a bag.
She did use the fabrics that I gave her to make a bag! and am I not the lucky one she also made me a bag using UK themed fabrics that she had bought in the U.S.A. which I haven’t seen here.
Must try again when I go to Sisters might be lucky and receive another one!!
